Over the course of a few weeks, the main library’s aging electronics were updated to a new, state-of-the-art system. The updated electronics performed so well that the university asked Spacesaver technicians to come back to campus to update the electronics in the law school library three years later.
Conversion processes in both libraries were scheduled for the summer months, when most classes were not in session, and the conversions went smoothly and were finished on time.
The Result: Moving School Archives to a Smaller Space
The new electronic systems refreshed the libraries’ investment in electronic shelving while also saving money and conserving resources. The new control interface is more intuitive for students who are familiar with LCD touchscreen “swipe” technology, and users can open and close aisles via an app on their mobile devices.
